Erin Verma

Erin is excited to be joining the Lighthouse team after 19 years in education. She started her career as a Teach For America corps member in Houston, TX, and taught middle and high school mathematics before moving into leadership. She has worked as an instructional and school leader for the past eleven years, in organizations including YES Prep Public Schools in Houston and Leadership Public Schools here in the Bay area. She emphatically believes that all students will achieve at high levels when they have equitable access to high-quality education, and holds an unwavering commitment to educational justice for black and brown students. She is passionate about curriculum and instruction and holds herself, staff and students to the highest expectations.
