About Lighthouse Community Public Schools

LCPS operates two schools in East Oakland:

  • Lighthouse Community Charter School, located at 444 Hegenberger Road, serving grades K-12 and accepting applications for all grades.
  • Lodestar, located at 701 105th Ave., serving grades TK-12 and now acccepting applications for all grades. For the 2024 school year, TK is an option for students who will turn September 2, 2024-June 2 2025.

Our schools are public, free and open to all students, especially students who have been historically underserved by public education, including students of color, students with disabilities, and language learners. There are no tests or other barriers to admission. Admission is based on a lottery system. If applications exceed the spaces available, you will be placed on a waitlist.

The application for the 2024-25 school year (next year) opens November 13, 2023.
