June 11, 2015

Lighthouse founder and math teacher, Laura Kretschmar, won a LIGHT award! She is part of one of  10 teams of California teachers honored as recipients of the 2015 Leveraging Innovation by Growing and Honoring Teachers (LIGHT) Awards. Launched last year by the Intrepid Philanthropy Foundation, the LIGHT Awards recognizes creative, innovative, and passionate teachers looking to pursue high-quality professional learning. The awarded teams each receive up to $30,000 over two years for projects which are tailored to the needs of their schools and communities and lead to more engaged teaching and students. The program also aims to foster community among its awardees.
