Lighthouse Community Public Schools are public, tuition-free charter schools. We receive the lion’s share of our funding from the State of California. Yet, in order to provide the best education possible, we raise between 7 -10% of our budget every year to fund the arts, counseling, after school program, college and career services, and academic intervention. Every dollar you donate will be put hard to work, ensuring that all students regardless of their background, first language, or ethnicity will graduate prepared for college and a career of their choice.

Lighthouse Community Charter School welcomes individuals who are willing to volunteer at Lighthouse. We are currently seeking volunteers to help with clerical work, grant writing, and mentoring and tutoring students.
Volunteers who work with students must first submit a clear TB test and submit their fingerprints. Because we believe that mentoring or tutoring a student is not a one-time occurrence, we ask that you consider volunteering for 6 months to a year.

Alex R. Graf Memorial Scholarship Fund
Alex Rudolf Graf was born on Jan. 2, 1971 and died on Oct. 23, 2003. To commemorate his life, Alex’s family has established the Alex R. Graf Memorial Scholarship Fund. During his life, Alex was able to pursue his dreams of living in China and working in the film industry because of his educational opportunities. Alex’s family would like to provide the diverse, low-income student population of Lighthouse Community Charter School with similar opportunities in the form of college tuition scholarships. Through his close relationship with his cousin, Laura Kretschmar, a founding teacher, Alex was a welcome and frequent visitor to the school. He believed in and shared the mission of Lighthouse.
Each year, the school provides 2 – 4 full-ride scholarships to its graduates with the Alex R. Graf Memorial Scholarship Fund. If you want to be a part of funding a student’s tenure in college and commemorate Alex’s life, we invite you to donate to the fund.
