Rubén Gómez Garcia

Mr. Ruben Gomez, originally from Puerto Rico, serves as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Lodestar High School. With a strong background in world language education and instructional leadership, he is committed to fostering rigorous, student-centered learning environments where all students can thrive.

Before joining school leadership, Mr. Gomez taught Spanish Honors and AP Spanish Language and Culture, established the school’s World Language Department, established Lodestar’s first chapter of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society), and established the school’s first official DELE Examination Center in partnership with the Instituto Cervantes Los Angeles. His work has focused on supporting teachers, strengthening instructional practices, and expanding opportunities for multilingual learners.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Mr. Gomez brings a deep appreciation for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures to his leadership. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Reach University, a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and a California Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential. He is passionate about educational equity, culturally responsive teaching, and preparing every student for success in college, career, and life.
