Learning has always brought immense joy and curiosity to my life, and I am incredibly grateful to have been welcomed into the vibrant Oakland community over the past five years. The warmth and deep togetherness I’ve experienced here reinforce just how vital a strong community is to our collective growth.
My work is grounded in connectedness, mutual accountability, and educational equity. While serving as a youth grief and residential counselor, I saw how gaps in proactive social-emotional support frequently led to exclusionary discipline, pushing students out of the classroom when they needed connection most. Recognizing that youth thrive when met with both high expectations and deep respect, I transitioned into school systems full-time. My goal is to collaborate with families and staff to build environments where Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) serves as a tool for empowerment and true belonging.
At LCPS, I strive to hold unwavering high standards for every student while providing the structural, relational, and loving support necessary to reach them. Grounding my daily work in our core values of Agency, Integrity, and Love, I partner with our community to dismantle barriers to attendance and engagement. Ultimately, my goal is for every student to deeply understand their inherent worth and power as changemakers, while our team champions the systemic changes required to sustain that vision.
