Akil Danjuma

Akil Danjuma is an experienced athletic leader with a proven track record in developing and implementing inclusive and engaging sports programs. As the Athletic Director, he has consistently increased student participation, revitalized school spirit, and created positive environments where students can thrive.
His background includes roles at UC Berkeley, positions in the cities of Piedmont and Berkeley, and Playworks, where he developed and led successful programs that enhanced student growth and community engagement.
Akil holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Saint Mary’s College and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Florida A&M University. He is committed to promoting athletic excellence and supporting student development at Lighthouse Community Public Schools.
