Alicia Blacknell

Lighthouse Middle and High School Principal

Ms. Blacknell has over a decade of experience in educational leadership, most recently serving as a principal in a Bay Area school district.  She has led Title I schools with diverse dual immersion and newcomer programs, implementing culturally relevant pedagogy and restorative practices.  Her efforts have consistently focused on creating empowering environments where all students thrive.  Some of Ms. Blacknell’s most recent accomplishments include:

  • Leading initiatives to increase the sense of safety in her community.
  • Prioritizing student learning by using data to enhance student outcomes.
  • Establishing strong partnerships with families by welcoming them into the school community.
  • Expecting and holding students, teachers, and families accountable to ensure all students are in class learning every day.
Ms. Blacknell holds a Tier II Administrative Credential from UC Berkeley and a Tier I Administrative Credential from Saint Mary’s College of California as well as a Masters in Education with a Special Education credential from Touro University.
